60 pounds of cannabis seized at VC Bird International Airport

The police have confiscated approximately sixty (60) pounds of cannabis, valued at an estimated EC $360,000.00, during a collaborative drug interdiction operation at V.C. Bird International Airport.

On Sunday, March 1, officers from the Narcotics Department, in coordination with the K-9 Unit and Customs Enforcement Unit, executed a well-planned operation at the airport. They recovered one black suitcase and one green suitcase containing a total of nineteen (19) sealed packages of cannabis.

A 38-year-old Jamaican man has been arrested and is currently in custody as part of an ongoing investigation.

He is anticipated to be charged and presented in court.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda remains steadfast in its dedication to dismantling drug trafficking networks and protecting the nation’s borders.

  1. Gosh! Am such a stupid police! I should have allowed the clearance to catch the person, but it have a name and address, because nothing can be shipped from around the world without identification of shipper and receiver. But what you know boss inspector ask us to always pick up these drugs safely and deliver to them, and no court case so the drugs disappear, but I wonder where?

  2. The estimated value of EC $360,000 shows the scale of this operation. This isn’t a minor offense; it’s serious organized activity.
