As the trial progresses, the legal teams continue to maneuver – each side aiming to sway the jury with compelling narratives and evidence.
The community watches closely, hoping for justice in a case that has captured the attention of the nation.
Examination of Digital Evidence
The day involved continued scrutiny of a digital forensics expert from the Regional Cyber Investigations Laboratory. He testified about retrieving surveillance footage from the Chinese Embassy, a Marble Hill Road business, and a neighbor’s residence near Christian’s home.
- Footage from the Chinese Embassy allegedly showed Christian’s truck being followed by a cooperating witness.
- Additional footage captured a car moving past and returning near Christian’s home around 5:30 p.m., supporting the Crown’s timeline for the murder.
During cross-examination, defense attorney Sherfield Bowen highlighted issues with the witness’s credibility:
- The corporal admitted to being transferred back to the cyber lab only after the supervisor’s departure, raising concerns about evidence tampering.
- He extracted footage only from 5 to 6 p.m. at investigators’ request, believing earlier footage irrelevant.
- He failed to search for footage of a white RAV4 linked to the prosecution’s witness.
Defense attorney Wendel Alexander confirmed the analysis of the phone belonging to the key witness’s brother.
Day Nine Observations
Christian, a man described as a reserved individual who valued his job and family was said to have expressed rising work-related tensions to his brother in the months leading up to his murder.
His sister – who confirmed the identification of his body – described him as strict yet loving, with a passion for photography and a commitment to his work, particularly in investigating Customs fraud.
A brother also noted signs of a struggle at Christian’s home after the incident on July 10, 2020, and mentioned Christian’s warning about workplace tensions following another officer’s death in 2019.
Evidence from Search Warrants
An officer testified about executing search warrants at the accused’s homes, where a ski mask consistent with criminal activity was found at Thomas’s residence.
The men were arrested on suspicion of robbery. The defense argued that the mask might have been planted, citing a lack of DNA evidence linking it to Thomas, and challenged the legality of the arrests without specifying the robbery.
Another officer confirmed that DNA samples were collected from the accused for testing.
Allegations Against the Accused
The case against Saleim Harrigan, Wayne Thomas, and Lasean Bully involves their alleged abduction and murder of Christian on July 10, 2020.
A witness testified he drove the accused, saw them take Christian from his home, and later found his body on a dirt road.
The witness had informed police of a murder plot weeks earlier and named businessman Raymond Yhapp as the mastermind.
Evidence from an FBI expert matched the phone activity of the accused with their movements on the day of the murder.
Crime scene photos showed Christian’s body and items linked to the crime, including a hoodie and ticket stub.
The trial, led by Justice Rajiv Persaud, may last six weeks and call over 50 witnesses.

well lard too much bangarang in this little 108 bass…. I only hope and pray that those or that person name that has been called is being held and questioned.
The lawyers should have requested a full copy of the surveillance footage for that day and reviewed it themselves. Also, the lawyers should have their own independent investigators. Never trust those police officers or those working at the cyber lab.
Why would the cyber lad officer extract just one hour (5pm-6pm) of the surveillance footage? This is a high-profile murder case. Is he trying to protect the real culprit in the murder crime?
Justice for Nigel Christian.
