Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers have convened for their 26th meeting, the first to be held in the format of an executive retreat, as the bloc works to define its role amid shifting global dynamics and prepares for the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) set for Antigua and Barbuda in November 2026.
The 26th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM) also marks the start of Commonwealth Day activities, observed annually on the second Monday in March.
Ministers at the retreat focused on shaping policy priorities in the lead-up to CHOGM to held in Antigua and Barbuda from November 1 to 4, 2026. Antigua and Barbuda Minister of Foreign Affairs Chet Greene and Antigua and Barbuda’s High Commissioner to the UK, Karen Mae Hill provided an update on preparations for the summit during the meeting.
Beyond CHOGM preparations, the agenda includes consideration of reform proposals and discussions on member country situations.
The executive retreat format is intended to produce a plan of action described as “bold and practical”, as the Commonwealth seeks to unlock shared prosperity across its membership in what organisers have characterised as a fractured global climate.

So where is that retreat being held? I don’t recall seeing that
Antigua going be in the global spotlight come November 2026. We better get ready from now
All these big meetings nice, but I hope it translate into real opportunities for young people and small businesses
