A man in his thirties from Newfield is dead following an alleged altercation with his mother-in-law at a house in the community.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred during a confrontation inside the residence. Sources indicate that the mother in law claimed her son in law—who is reportedly the common-law husband of her daughter—entered the house and attempted to rape her (the mother).
The situation reportedly escalated during the confrontation, resulting in the man sustaining fatal injuries.
Although the altercation is said to have started inside the house, the man was later discovered in nearby bushes.
Police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident. More details will be provided as information becomes available.
