Police have taken two young men into custody as investigations deepen into the brutal double homicide that has left a Villa community in mourning.

In a press statement released just now, police say the suspects, ages 19 and 24, are currently being questioned by investigators in connection with the shooting deaths of 17-year-old Omarie Lewis and 18-year-old Brianna Clarke of Hans Street.

The young couple was gunned down late Thursday morning in what residents have described as a brazen, execution-style attack believed to have been carried out in a drive-by shooting.
Around 10:30 a.m. on March 26, multiple police units — including the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Serious Crimes Unit, Forensic Evidence Recovery Unit (FERU), and officers from the St. John’s Police Station — were dispatched to the Villa area following reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they found both victims lying motionless outside their home, their bodies side by side in a scene that has since shaken the nation. A medical doctor later pronounced them dead shortly before noon.

The killings have sparked outrage and grief, with residents describing the attack as cold and calculated, and raising fresh concerns about escalating gun violence.

Police say investigations remain active and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Members of the public are being asked to contact the CID at 462-3913 or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

Authorities have also extended condolences to the families of the victims, as loved ones struggle to come to terms with the sudden and tragic loss.

  1. It’s better if the government sends those criminals to Iran or Israel to help fight the war. All the young men in Antigua and Barbuda who think that they’re trigger-hungry to take someone’s life over material things need to be ship there.
