Randy Baltimore sworn in as MP for St Philip North (photo by Robert Andre Emmanuel)
Randy Baltimore has officially taken his seat in the Lower House of Parliament, marking a new chapter in representation for St Philip North following the departure of veteran parliamentarian Sir Robin Yearwood.
Baltimore was sworn in during a ceremony on Friday morning, where he took the oath of allegiance and joined fellow government members on the Labour Party benches.
His entry into Parliament comes on the heels of his victory in the March 16 by-election, where he secured the constituency seat after defeating United Progressive Party (UPP) candidate Alex Browne.

The new MP received a warm welcome from both government and opposition members, including Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle, as he assumed his place in the chamber.
In a further development, Baltimore has also been elected Deputy Speaker of the House stepping into the role previously held by Sir Robin Yearwood, who retired from frontline politics.

The ABLP now has its own Black Panther. So two Black Panthers in parliament.
Congratulations Randy. You may be the shortest (not height but time) MP to sit in the Lower House
