Crabbs Accident Victim Identified as 35-Year-Old Charles Paul Rippon

Police have confirmed the identity of the man who lost his life in a tragic late-evening crash along Crabbs Main Road on Friday as 35-year-old Charles Paul Rippon of Fitches Creek.

The fatal collision occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. on March 27 in the vicinity of the Crabbs Economic Zone, where Rippon was reportedly driving a silver Honda CR-V when he lost control of the vehicle. Preliminary reports indicate the vehicle veered off the southern side of the roadway and overturned several times before crashing into a tree.

Emergency responders from the All Saints Fire Department were dispatched to the scene and used hydraulic rescue equipment to extricate Rippon from the wreckage after he was found unconscious inside the vehicle. He was later transported by Emergency Medical Services to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Police have extended condolences to Rippon’s family and loved ones as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue.

Authorities are again reminding motorists across Antigua and Barbuda to exercise caution on the nation’s roads, particularly during nighttime travel, and to observe posted speed limits in an effort to reduce further tragedies.
