The Antigua Grammar School held its much-anticipated health walk on March 26th, bringing together students, teachers, and supporters in a spirited display of unity and wellness.
The event began in the early hours of the morning, with the entire school body assembling at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Participants set off promptly at 5:00 a.m., energized and ready for the journey ahead.
The route took walkers along Jonas Road, through Sweets Village, and onto Fig Tree Drive, before concluding at Morris Bay. According to reports, the path provided both a physical challenge and an opportunity for participants to enjoy the island’s natural beauty while promoting healthy living.
Leading up to the event, students were required to raise funds using sponsor sheets, encouraging community involvement and support.
One student said “This initiative not only helped finance the activity but also instilled a sense of responsibility and teamwork among the students”.
At the end of the walk, participants were rewarded with breakfast at Morris Bay, marking a satisfying conclusion to a successful and well-organized event, according to supporters and students. The health walk highlighted the school’s commitment to promoting fitness, unity, and community engagement among its students.
