
Regional Security System Chiefs of Security Meeting held in St. Lucia
Commissioner of Police Everton Jeffers has returned to the island after taking part in the Regional Security System Chiefs of Security Meeting in St. Lucia. It was his first regional engagement since stepping into his new role.
He travelled on March 24 for the two‑day gathering held on March 25 and 26, chaired by St. Lucia’s Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ronald Phillip.

Security leaders from across the region, along with partners from the United States, the United Kingdom, CARICOM IMPACS and CDEMA, shared updates on key issues. Their talks covered maritime awareness, progress on the RSS Logistics Hub, and plans to strengthen the region’s disaster response.
They also looked at the Justice Protection Act, the use of Artificial Intelligence in policing, and matters linked to energy security. RSS Directors provided updates on ongoing work and future priorities.

Commissioner Jeffers said the meeting offered valuable collaboration and fresh ideas to support both national security and the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.
He returned home on March 27, during which time Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Louisa Benjamin‑Quashie served as Acting Commissioner.
