Antigua and Barbuda’s Geron Henry narrowly missed out on a place in the Under-17 boys’ 200 metres final at the 53rd CARIFTA Games on this morning, finishing third in the Section 2 preliminary heats with a time of 21.92 seconds in Grenada.

Henry’s time was not sufficient to claim one of the two non-automatic qualifying spots, which went to Jamaica’s Tyler Morgan, who clocked 21.56 seconds in Section 3, and Grenada’s Jovanie Green, who posted 21.87 seconds in the same heat.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Dario Tavernier led all qualifiers with a time of 21.42 seconds.

Henry had reached the Under-17 boys’ 400 metres final on Saturday, finishing fourth in 48.74 seconds.
