Michael Freeland, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate for St George, is expressing strong confidence ahead of the upcoming general election, declaring that the constituency is “in a strong position” to return to Labour representation.
Speaking during an interview with Antigua.news, Freeland said his campaign has already made significant inroads across the constituency, even before the official election announcement.
Freeland will face a new United Progressive Party (UPP) candidate, following the withdrawal of the previous representative Algernon Serpent Watts.
However, he downplayed the significance of the change, insisting that preparation—not personalities—will determine the outcome.

St George’s constituency don’t need a thief. Can imagine if you won that seat, Gaston will have to keep an eye on you when it comes to the people money.
Hmm. You seem to know a lot or should I say you seem bitter…. If he’s a thief why would Gaston bout him there. Can tell you the UPP supporters are under here
Sit and wait for the rude awakening Mr. Freeland. It’s a little too early for excitement. The people were tired before. That’s why they made the change
That’s one seat I’m confident that the party will retain. People voted for serpent not particularly the UPP
