Trevor Walker, Barbuda People’s Movement candidate for Barbuda
BPM leader Trevor Walker has pledged to improve healthcare access in Barbuda by securing a dialysis machine for residents, citing the current hardship faced by patients.
Speaking at a community meeting last night, Walker highlighted the challenges of traveling to Antigua multiple times per week for life-saving treatment.
“You imagine going to Antigua twice a week… and coming back the same way,” he said, describing the situation as unacceptable.
He said a BPM administration would priorities healthcare investment, including trained personnel to operate the equipment locally.
Walker argued that the issue reflects broader neglect of Barbuda’s needs and vowed to address long-standing gaps in essential services.

Please stick to your word
Don’t make promises for a vote Mr. Walker. Barbuda is yours, don’t feel like you need to make these unnecessary promises for a vote!! Y’all strong on that side
This is a very real issue for patients in Barbuda. Travelling to Antigua multiple times a week for dialysis is exhausting, expensive, and emotionally draining. If there is a way to bring that service closer to home, it would be a life-changing improvement.
