Vehicle Accident Knocks Out Power to Several Communities Served by Belmont #3 Feeder

A vehicular accident that damaged a utility pole has left several communities without electricity after service along the Belmont #3 feeder was interrupted, the APUA Electricity Business Unit confirmed.

According to the utility provider, the outage was caused by a broken pole resulting from the crash, forcing an unplanned interruption to customers across a wide section of the network.

Areas affected include All Saints Road west of the substation, Briggins, Grays Hill, Whenner Road, Upper Desouza Road, Upper Tindale Road, Belmont, Cashew Hill, Bendals Road, Golden Grove, Nut Grove, Bendals and Bathlodge.

Technicians were dispatched shortly after the incident and have been working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible. Utility officials did not indicate how long repairs are expected to take but assured customers that restoration efforts are ongoing.

APUA has apologized for the inconvenience caused by the outage and thanked residents for their patience while crews continue repair work on the damaged infrastructure.

Unplanned outages linked to traffic collisions remain a recurring challenge for utility providers, often requiring emergency response teams to secure damaged equipment before restoration can begin.
