Traffic stop leads to arrests and weapon discovery

Two men from Willikies and Pares Village, ages 25 and 26, were taken into police custody after officers discovered a gun and ammunition during a traffic stop early Saturday.

Police say the incident occurred just before 1 a.m. on April 18 when a patrol unit noticed a blue Honda Fit driving along Willikies Main Road without a front number plate.

A search of the vehicle revealed a 9mm pistol with seven matching rounds.

Both men were arrested, and inquiries are ongoing.
