Polling stations across Antigua and Barbuda officially opened at 6:00 a.m. today, but long before the start time, residents were already on the move, eager to cast their ballots in what is expected to be a closely watched general election.
In several constituencies, voters began lining up in the early hours of the morning, with some arriving before dawn to secure their place in line.

The early turnout usually reflects strong public interest and a sense of civic duty among electors participating in the democratic process.

Today’s vote, between the ABLP and the UPP, will determine the country’s political direction for the next five years, as Antiguans and Barbudans decide on the leadership that will guide the nation through its next phase of development.
