National Youth Ambassador for Antigua and Barbuda, Kristine Louisa
The Caribbean Youth Spotlight Series has named 23-year-old Antiguan and Barbudan youth leader Kristine Louisa as its Caribbean Young Person of the Month for May, recognising her growing impact in youth empowerment, education, and community outreach across the region.
Louisa serves as a National Youth Ambassador for Antigua and Barbuda, is a final-year medical student, and is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Hopeful Hearts Foundation, a youth-led organisation focused on education, empowerment, and community development.
Her work is centred on equipping young people with the tools and mindset needed for long-term success. Rather than focusing solely on material support, Louisa emphasises personal development, confidence-building, and mentorship, aiming to help youth realise their potential.

Through direct engagement with students, she addresses issues such as self-doubt, lack of guidance, and limited exposure to opportunities. Her programmes encourage discipline, education, and self-belief, pushing young people to take ownership of their futures.
At the core of her approach is the creation of safe, supportive spaces where young people feel heard and valued. Through these environments, she blends advocacy with practical action, ensuring that empowerment is not only discussed but actively delivered.
The Hopeful Hearts Foundation, under her leadership, continues to expand its outreach efforts, strengthening its presence in youth development and community support initiatives across Antigua and Barbuda.

Her selection for the May feature highlights what organisers describe as her consistent commitment to youth development and her ability to translate advocacy into measurable impact.
The Caribbean Youth Spotlight Series said the recognition reflects her role in bridging the gap between potential and opportunity for young people, positioning her as one of the region’s emerging youth voices.
Louisa’s inclusion in the series also underscores the increasing visibility of Caribbean youth leadership on regional platforms, as young leaders continue to shape conversations around education, empowerment, and social change.
