Two masked men reportedly forced their way into an Upper Fort Road residence

Police are investigating a home invasion robbery at Penny Lane, Upper Fort Road, where two masked men allegedly forced their way into a residence and stole cash, mobile phones, and identification documents in the early hours of May 5, 2026.

According to police reports, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) was alerted after a resident contacted authorities following the incident, which occurred around 2:00 a.m.

The male complainant told officers that he was asleep in his south-western bedroom when he was awakened by a masked intruder armed with a machete. He described the suspect as approximately six feet tall, slim built, dressed in a black shirt and a black ski mask.

The victim reported that the assailant demanded a black shoulder bag he was wearing. A struggle reportedly ensued, during which he observed a second masked individual inside the home, who he said was dragging his female roommate into the hallway.

The victim stated that the first suspect eventually managed to seize the shoulder bag, which contained approximately EC$500, US$200, several government identification cards, a TCL cellular phone valued at EC$300, and a Toyota Porte vehicle key.

The female occupant of the home also gave a statement to police, reporting that she was in bed using her iPhone 15 Pro when she was confronted by a man wearing a dark hoodie, long black pants, sneakers, and a red ABLP scarf covering his face. She said the suspect, also armed with a machete, snatched her phone and demanded money.

She further alleged that the intruder searched a chest of drawers and stole EC$350 before dragging her into the hallway, where she saw the second suspect and the ongoing struggle involving her housemate.

Both suspects reportedly fled the scene through a southern living room door, escaping with the stolen items.

Investigators later observed evidence of forced entry at the property, noting that a mosquito gauze had been removed from an eastern push-up window, which was closed but not locked, providing access into the home.

Police conducted a search of the area, but the suspects and stolen items were not recovered. Crime scene investigators processed the location, and inquiries into the matter are continuing.
