Roman Mussabekov
Nearly a decade after the mysterious disappearance of her son in Antigua, a grieving mother is still clinging to hope that he may one day return home.
Roman Mussabekov vanished on May 15, 2017, while visiting Antigua, and despite the passage of nine years, his family says the search for answers has never stopped.
“My son, Roman Mussabekov, has been missing for nine years as of today. Not a single day passes without thinking of him. Our family is still searching and still hoping,” his mother said in an emotional appeal marking the anniversary of his disappearance.
Mussabekov was 29 years old when he was last seen. According to information shared by relatives, he checked into the Ocean Point Hotel on May 14, 2017. The following day, he reportedly took a taxi to the Yacht Club Marina in English Harbour and was never seen again.
The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear, and over the years, the family has continued to seek assistance from the public in hopes that someone may come forward with information.
Here is a video story we ran about the matter
Now 38 years old, Mussabekov is described as being approximately 1.78 metres tall, with brown hair, blue eyes and glasses. Family members say he spoke advanced English and was known to be friendly and approachable.
His mother believes that even after nearly a decade, someone may still hold a key piece of information that could help solve the mystery.
“Even after nine years, someone may remember something. Someone may know the truth, whatever it may be. We continue to hope that he is still alive,” she said.
The family is urging anyone who may have seen Mussabekov or remembers any details connected to his movements in Antigua in May 2017 to come forward, no matter how insignificant the information may seem.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the family privately at +1 514 882 9319.
The case remains one of several unsolved disappearances in Antigua and Barbuda, with loved ones continuing to wait for answers years later.

Imagine nine years waking up every day not knowing where your child is. No mother deserves that pain.
Somebody somewhere knows something. Too many years pass and nobody talking.
Someone certainly knows something and it may take what seems like forever but trust and believe God don’t sleep
