Overnight Road Closure and Detours Planned for Major All Saints Road Works

Motorists travelling along All Saints Road this weekend are being advised to prepare for detours and possible delays as the Ministry of Works moves ahead with a major phase of infrastructure works along a section of the busy roadway.

The Ministry announced that significant construction activity will take place between FADI Building Supplies and Fresh and Eazy Supermarket as part of the ongoing All Saints Road Project being undertaken by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

To facilitate the works, temporary traffic diversions will be introduced after the current single-lane traffic arrangement expires at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, 2026. The detours will remain in effect overnight until 7 a.m. the following mornings.

Motorists travelling out of St. John’s will be required to turn right at Flex Hardware Store and use the Heritage Preschool road to reconnect with All Saints Road.

Drivers heading into St. John’s will be redirected to make a left turn at D’Cravinz and travel through Herberts before rejoining the route into the city.

The Ministry said traffic personnel will be stationed along the route to help guide motorists and maintain traffic flow. It also noted that sections of the detour route will operate as one-way traffic zones, with signage installed to direct commuters safely.

Residents living near the work area will continue to have local access throughout the construction period, while businesses in the area are expected to remain open during the works.

Motorists are being urged to exercise caution as heavy-duty equipment will be operating near the construction zone and to follow all instructions from traffic officials.

The Ministry is also encouraging road users to adjust travel schedules and allow additional time for delays.
