Kalin Fontaine, Restaurant Manager at Carlisle Bay
An Antiguan hospitality professional has placed the nation firmly on the global stage after earning a top international ranking at a prestigious worldwide awards programme in Portugal.
Kalin Fontaine, Restaurant Manager at Carlisle Bay, was recognised at the inaugural LQA Sirius Awards 2026 after being selected as the only hospitality professional from the Caribbean among more than 10,000 Star Employees worldwide.

Fontaine secured a place in the Top 100 globally and travelled to Lisbon, Portugal to represent both Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Caribbean region.
She went on to place eighth overall internationally — a standout achievement that highlights the caliber of Caribbean hospitality on the world stage.

Reflecting on the milestone, Fontaine said: “All the way from Antigua to Portugal, representing Antigua and the Caribbean among 10,000 hospitality professionals worldwide, earning a spot in the Top 100. I went, I represented, and conquered.”
The Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) praised Fontaine’s accomplishment, describing it as a reflection of the dedication, passion and authentic guest experiences that continue to define hospitality across the region.
The association also extended congratulations to the team at Carlisle Bay, noting that Fontaine’s achievement serves as a proud moment not only for the resort but for Antigua and Barbuda as a whole.

Congratulations to you. Antigua and Barbuda has some real brilliant minds.
