A former police inspector’s vehicle was stolen on Tuesday afternoon in a bold daylight theft at the corner of Herberts and All Saints Roads.
The incident, which was captured on surveillance cameras, unfolded within seconds outside a business establishment in the area.
According to reports, the former inspector had exited the vehicle and briefly left the driver’s door open when a man suddenly approached, entered the car, and sped away.
Video footage circulating online shows the former officer shouting and running after the vehicle as the suspect drove off.
The brazen nature of the theft has sparked concern among residents and motorists, particularly given the busy nature of the area during daytime hours.
Police have since launched an investigation and are reviewing surveillance footage as they work to identify the suspect and recover the stolen vehicle.
