Hodges Bay Resort Named Among Caribbean’s Coolest Hotels for 2026
Hodges Bay Resort and Spa has secured a coveted spot on Caribbean Journal’s 2026 Cool List, placing the Antigua property among just 20 hotels across the region recognized for their unique style, atmosphere, and guest experience.
The annual list, now in its 14th year, celebrates Caribbean hotels that stand out not only for luxury, but for what the publication describes as a distinct personality and energy. This year’s selections, curated by Caribbean Journal editor Alexander Britell, range from secluded island retreats to internationally renowned beachfront resorts.
In his review, Britell praised Hodges Bay as “an art-filled, beautifully designed, 79-room hotel that marries boutique design with the amenities of a far larger resort,” declaring it “a new must on the Caribbean luxury circuit.”
The publication highlighted several features of the north coast property, including dining at Katsuya and the resort’s private offshore island experience at Prickly Pear Island.
General Manager Christopher Eastmond said the recognition reflects the resort’s continued efforts to elevate its product while positioning Antigua as a premier luxury destination in the Caribbean.
“We are truly grateful to Caribbean Journal for this recognition of ‘coolness,’” Eastmond said. “It serves as another spark that will continue to drive us forward as we strive to reach new heights.”
Eastmond, who recently assumed leadership of the resort, brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience across the Caribbean and the United Kingdom. His career has included senior roles at Belle Mont Farm, Curtain Bluff, and O2 Beach Club & Spa.
Under his leadership, Hodges Bay is undergoing a series of upgrades aimed at enhancing the guest experience, including renovations to rooms and suites, improvements to amenities, and updates to dining and entertainment offerings.
Antigua and Barbuda also received a second mention on the Cool List through Hammock Cove Antigua, which earned praise for its luxury villas, infinity pools, and highly rated dining and rum bar experience.
The recognition marks another major international endorsement for Antigua’s growing luxury tourism sector as the destination continues to attract attention from global travel publications and high-end travelers alike.

Congratulations to them it is indeed a great hotel and location
