Police are investigating three separate wounding incidents that occurred across the weekend, leaving multiple men injured in unrelated attacks. The first report came on Saturday when a Barbudan man told officers he was struck in the head with a glass bottle during an altercation. His injury was assessed as non-life-threatening, and detectives have since launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the attack. Early Sunday morning, around 12:20 a.m., police were called to St. George Street following another report of a violent assault. A man was brutally killed in the Mackpond area near All Saints in what witnesses described as a vicious attack.

The victim, Sheldon Diaz of All Saints, reportedly suffered multiple chop and stab wounds during the incident, which unfolded in broad view of several onlookers.

Witnesses said Diaz was attacked with a cutlass and a knife before attempting to escape. According to accounts from the scene, he ran from his attackers and sought refuge in a nearby yard. However, the violence allegedly continued after he entered the property.

Several people who witnessed the incident said they watched in horror as Diaz pleaded for his life while others begged the attackers to stop. Some alleged that threats were made against anyone who tried to intervene.

By the time the attack ended, Diaz had sustained extensive injuries, including severe wounds to his head and hand. Emergency responders were summoned, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have since taken a man and a woman into custody as investigations continue. Authorities have not yet disclosed what led to the confrontation or whether charges have been filed.

Investigators are continuing to gather statements and examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal attack.
