The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC) has successfully concluded its four-day Music Development Masterclass, an initiative aimed at strengthening the skills, knowledge, and professional capacity of individuals within the nation’s music and entertainment industry.
The programme, held from June 8 to 13, brought together a diverse group of emerging and established creatives for an intensive learning experience designed to provide participants with practical tools for navigating the modern music business.
Sessions focused on key areas including music publishing, branding, artist development, business management, industry best practices, and strategies for building sustainable careers in the creative sector.

Participants received direct mentorship and hands-on training from internationally respected Caribbean music industry professionals, including Stephen Phillip of DSM Music Group, Daryll Gervais of Gervais Music, and Titan VCD of NXUS Collective Agency.
Throughout the programme, attendees engaged in interactive discussions, industry-focused workshops, and networking opportunities that provided valuable insight into the evolving global music landscape. Facilitators shared real-world experiences and practical guidance on how artists, producers, songwriters, and other creative professionals can position themselves for long-term success.

At the closing ceremony, participants were presented with certificates of completion in recognition of their dedication and commitment to advancing their professional development within the creative industries.
The ABFC said the masterclass forms part of its broader mission to cultivate a vibrant and sustainable creative economy in Antigua and Barbuda by investing in local talent and creating pathways for growth within the entertainment sector.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to providing opportunities that equip creatives with the knowledge, skills, and industry connections necessary to compete internationally, generate year-round income, and contribute meaningfully to the country’s cultural and economic development.

For the amount of artists we have here I find the turnout is rather poor
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the masterclass
