Delano Forbes found guilty of murder
Delano Forbes, the man widely known as the “Vampire Killer” has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the 2018 murder of post office worker Maurison Thomas.
The 31-year-old was sentenced in the High Court after being found guilty by an 11-member jury in December 2025 following a trial that lasted several weeks.
The court also ordered that Forbes’ sentence be reviewed after he has served 15 years.
Thomas was found dead inside his home in All Saints on March 7, 2018. Evidence presented during the trial revealed that he suffered a fractured skull and severe brain injuries caused by a blunt object. A forensic pathologist testified that the injuries were consistent with significant force being used during the attack.
The prosecution’s case relied heavily on a combination of physical and digital evidence. According to Wadadli Case Files, investigators linked Forbes to the crime through a distinctive army-coloured hoodie, personal belongings belonging to the victim that were allegedly found in his possession, and deleted video footage that police were able to recover.
The matter was heard before Justice Ann Marie Smith. Director of Public Prosecutions Clement Joseph prosecuted the case on behalf of the Crown, while attorney Sherfield Bowen represented Forbes.
The conviction marks the first murder case against Forbes to reach sentencing. However, his legal troubles are far from over.
He remains before the courts on three additional murder charges involving the deaths of Wilfred “Bongo” Williams in Swetes, Shawn Henry in Point, and Lisue Williams on All Saints Road. Prosecutors allege the killings occurred between 2017 and 2018.
The sentencing brings a measure of closure to the family of Maurison Thomas, more than eight years after his death shocked the All Saints community. Attention is now expected to turn to the remaining murder cases still pending against Forbes.

For the victim’s family, no sentence can truly erase the pain of their loss
