A former Carlisle Bay Resort employee is awaiting sentencing after admitting to shooting two co-workers outside the luxury hotel nearly three years ago.

Frederick Henry appeared before the High Court on Monday, where he pleaded guilty to a series of serious offences, including attempted murder, shooting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

The charges stem from a 2023 incident in which Dean Anthony and Morissa Henry were shot and seriously injured shortly after completing their work shift at the resort.

According to court records, the pair were walking toward the hotel’s main gate when the shooting occurred. Both victims sustained severe injuries and required medical treatment.

Henry was also employed at Carlisle Bay Resort at the time of the incident.

His guilty plea brings the matter closer to a conclusion, sparing the victims and witnesses the ordeal of a lengthy trial. However, the court must now determine an appropriate sentence for the offences, which carry significant penalties.

The prosecution is expected to present details of the incident and its impact on the victims during the sentencing phase, while the defence may offer mitigating factors on Henry’s behalf.

A date for sentencing is expected to be announced by the court.
