Clayton Jeffery Pleads Guilty to Scalding Sister with Boiling Water in Bolans Attack
A Bolans man who admitted to carrying out a vicious attack on his sister is expected to learn his fate next month after pleading guilty in court on Monday.
Clayton Jeffery entered a guilty plea to a charge of wounding with intent when he appeared before the court on June 22. The charge stems from an incident on October 29, 2023, that left his sister seriously injured and facing a lengthy recovery.
According to the facts presented in court, the woman was walking to her mother’s home in Bolans when she noticed Jeffery running toward her carrying a kettle filled with boiling water. As he approached, he reportedly shouted a threatening remark.
Fearing for her safety, the woman attempted to run away. However, Jeffery caught up with her and poured the scalding water onto her back. The victim screamed and fell to the ground before being subjected to a further assault.
The court heard that Jeffery kicked and punched his sister repeatedly while she lay on the road. The attack was eventually stopped when members of the public intervened.
The woman sustained severe injuries, including third-degree burns to her back, a fractured left leg, and a broken bone in her right hand. She spent three weeks in hospital receiving treatment and remained bedridden for approximately eight months after being discharged.
Investigators were told there had been no argument between the siblings immediately before the attack.
During a police interview, Jeffery reportedly said he was upset because he believed his sister had been speaking about him to neighbours. He claimed he became angry after overhearing those neighbours discussing what he believed were rumours concerning him. Upon seeing his sister on the road, he said he rushed toward her with the kettle of hot water.
Jeffery appeared emotional in court as the matter was called, at one point wiping tears from his eyes while standing before the judge.
Sentencing has been scheduled for July 20.

COLD! NO WORD, BUT COLD!
A guilty plea doesn’t erase the pain and trauma caused.
