Antigua Carnival 2026 is only one month away

The countdown has officially begun for Antigua Carnival 2026, with just one month remaining before the start of what organizers describe as the Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival.

From July 25 to August 4, Antigua and Barbuda will come alive with eleven days of culture, music, mas and revelry under the theme “Feel the Rhythm.” The annual celebration is expected to attract thousands of visitors and returning nationals eager to immerse themselves in the island’s premier cultural event.

Throughout the festival, the twin-island nation will be transformed into an island-wide celebration featuring the pulsating sounds of steelpan, calypso and soca music, colourful street parades, traditional characters and an array of fetes and cultural experiences.

Chair of the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission, Ambassador Elizabeth Makhoul, said Antigua Carnival offers the world an opportunity to experience the heartbeat of the nation through its vibrant celebrations and authentic Caribbean culture.

“Antigua Carnival is more than a festival; it’s a rhythm you feel, a culture you experience and memories you carry long after the music fades,” she said, adding that this year’s festivities also begin the journey toward Carnival 70, a historic milestone to be celebrated in 2027.

Chief Marketing Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, Charmaine Spencer, noted that the festival presents visitors with a unique opportunity to experience the destination at its most energetic and vibrant.

She said Antigua Carnival combines the country’s rich cultural traditions, distinct cuisine and warm hospitality with its world-renowned beaches, creating the perfect summer getaway for travellers seeking both relaxation and celebration.

Antigua Carnival 2026 will feature a packed programme of events, including the Opening of Carnival, T-Shirt Mas, J’ouvert, Carnival Monday and Tuesday’s Parade of the Bands and the traditional Last Lap.

The festival’s entertainment lineup will also include major music competitions and performances, with local artistes competing for the coveted Party Monarch and Calypso Monarch titles.

One of the most anticipated events on the calendar is “Face Off: Antigua vs. Dominica,” which will see Antigua and Barbuda’s legendary Burning Flames band share the stage with Dominica’s internationally acclaimed bouyon band, Triple K International.

Regional soca stars including Patrice Roberts, Machel Montano, Voice, Skinny Fabulous and Muddy are also scheduled to headline major events alongside Antigua and Barbuda’s own soca sensations Tian Winter and Tizzy.

Meanwhile, the Panorama competition will once again showcase the country’s rich steelpan tradition, promising electrifying performances from some of the region’s finest pan musicians.

As excitement continues to build, organizers are encouraging travellers to secure their flights and accommodations early and begin planning for an unforgettable experience filled with the rhythm, energy and excitement of Antigua Carnival 2026.
