Antigua-based regional carrier LIAT Air has apologised to passengers after technical issues affecting its aircraft led to delays and cancellations across its network over the past two days.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the airline said the disruptions were caused by unforeseen technical problems that required affected aircraft to undergo inspections and maintenance before they could safely return to service.
LIAT Air said the temporary removal of aircraft from operation was necessary to ensure passenger safety, despite the impact on its flight schedule.
“While these actions were essential to ensuring the highest safety standards, they resulted in delays and cancellations that impacted a number of flights,” the airline said.
The carrier said it has activated recovery measures to restore its schedule and reduce further disruption. Operational teams are working to rebook affected passengers on the next available LIAT Air services, partner airlines, or other available air carriers where possible.
The airline said it is making every effort to resume normal operations as quickly as possible while maintaining its safety standards.
LIAT Air also apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked passengers, partners and stakeholders for their patience and understanding.

LIAT fix it please. We had high hopes that you would never follow the footsteps of the LIAT gone. Doh start
