Rawdon Turner, Minister of Social and Urban Transforamtion
Minister for Social and Urban Transformation, Hon. Rawdon Turner, received high commendation from Cabinet after presenting his report on the 16th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA).
Cabinet praised Minister Turner for his strong representation of Antigua and Barbuda and welcomed the important outcomes of the regional meeting, which focused on strengthening disaster preparedness, emergency response and building resilience across the Caribbean.
The Minister highlighted Antigua and Barbuda’s growing leadership in regional disaster management through its participation in the Supply Chain Assessment (SCAN) Programme and its role in hosting Caribbean Disaster Relief Unit (CDRU) training.
Cabinet also welcomed CDEMA’s efforts to modernise regional emergency response systems and develop a new strategic plan beyond 2027, while reaffirming the Government’s commitment to working alongside the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) and regional partners to better protect communities.
The commendation reflects the Government’s confidence in Minister Turner’s leadership and his continued commitment to strengthening Antigua and Barbuda’s disaster preparedness and resilience.
