
Antigua and Barbuda Swim Team Departs Today for PanAm Aquatics Championships in Colombia
A team of nine swimmers departed Antigua on Friday to represent the nation at the 5th PanAm Aquatics Swimming Championships, scheduled for July 8 to 12, 2026, in Ibagué, Colombia.
The Antigua and Barbuda Swimming Federation (ABSF) has selected a talented squad of young athletes who will compete against some of the best swimmers from across the Americas.
Representing Antigua and Barbuda are:
• Girls 13–15: Anya DeGannes and Willow Zreibi
• Boys 13–15: Alessandro Bazzoni, Jamie Tranter and N’Yriq Weste
• Boys 16–18: Reuben Edwards, Espriit Shaw and Jai Sindhi
• Boys 19 & Over: Tony Goodwin
Leading the delegation are Head Coach Wayne Mitchell, Team Manager Anna Salerno-Mitchell, and Chaperone Daniela Casmiro.
Also travelling to Colombia is Vipers Swim Club athlete Malique Josephs, who will compete independently in the boys’ 13–15 age group.
The championships are expected to attract top junior and senior swimmers from across North, Central and South America, providing Antigua and Barbuda’s athletes with an opportunity to test themselves against elite regional competition.
The Antigua and Barbuda Swimming Federation has encouraged the public to keep the team in their thoughts and cheer them on as they proudly represent the twin-island nation on the international stage.
