Prime Minister Gaston Browne and his daughter Britney Browne
Prime Minister Gaston Browne took a brief pause from the demands of public office to celebrate a deeply personal milestone as his daughter, Britney Browne, graduated with a Master’s Degree in International Business from Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom.
The Prime Minister, who travelled to the UK to attend the ceremony, said witnessing his daughter’s achievement was one of the proudest moments of his life.

“This is an incredibly proud moment for me as a father. Watching Britney earn her Master’s Degree is the result of years of hard work, sacrifice and determination. Education remains the greatest investment any family or nation can make because it empowers people to create opportunities, solve problems and contribute meaningfully to society.
“As a government, we have consistently placed education at the centre of our development agenda. That is why we continue to invest heavily in expanding access to higher education through the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus. Every young Antiguan and Barbudan, regardless of their financial circumstances, should have the opportunity to pursue excellence and realise their fullest potential.
“I have always encouraged my children to value education, not simply as a qualification, but as a lifelong foundation for leadership, service and personal growth. Britney’s achievement reinforces my belief that when we invest in our young people, we invest in the future of our country,” PM Browne tells Antigua.news.
The Prime Minister said he hopes Britney’s accomplishment will inspire other young people across Antigua and Barbuda to pursue higher education and strive for excellence in their chosen fields.
Despite the constant responsibilities that come with leading the country, Browne said family remains one of the greatest blessings in his life. He noted that while public service often requires personal sacrifice, there are moments that transcend politics, and being present to celebrate his daughter’s success was one of them.
Leaving the pressures of government behind, if only briefly, the Prime Minister embraced the opportunity to stand proudly beside his daughter as she marked one of the most significant achievements of her academic journey, a reminder that behind every national leader is also a father whose greatest joy is seeing his children succeed.
