Phoenix Branker delivered a commanding performance to capture the 2026 Optimist Petite title during the Optimist Club of St. John’s annual pageant held on Sunday evening at the UWI Global Campus.

Branker emerged as the night’s biggest winner, claiming not only the coveted crown but also sweeping the competition’s major judged categories. She was awarded Best Speech, Best Talent, and Best Interview, cementing her status as the standout contestant of the evening.

Serenity Joyce finished as first runner-up, while Syriah Martin secured the second runner-up position. Malya Peltier completed the winners’ circle as third runner-up after impressive performances throughout the competition.

The pageant brought together four young contestants who demonstrated confidence, poise and talent while competing in various segments designed to highlight their communication skills, creativity and stage presence.

Hosted by the Optimist Club of St. John’s, the annual Optimist Petite Show serves as a platform for the personal development of young girls, encouraging self-confidence, leadership and public speaking while providing a positive environment for them to showcase their abilities.

Throughout the evening, family members, supporters and well-wishers applauded each contestant as they took to the stage under this year’s theme, “Dream, Believe, Shine.”

At the conclusion of the competition, organisers congratulated all four participants for their dedication and outstanding performances, noting that each contestant exemplified the values of confidence, determination and excellence.

With her victory, Phoenix Branker now assumes the role of 2026 Optimist Petite Queen, representing the Optimist Club of St. John’s while serving as a young ambassador for the organisation’s mission of inspiring children to develop their full potential.
