The next generation of Antiguan soca stars took centre stage in spectacular fashion as the KOSCAB Junior Party Monarch Competition crowned its 2026 champions during Antigua Carnival, celebrating the island’s emerging musical talent.

Lyrical Boss walked away with the Junior Jumpy Monarch title after delivering an impressive performance of “Making Bread.” The young performer also secured the coveted Best Performer award in the Jumpy category, capping off a standout night.

Soca J finished as first runner-up with “Paper Fight,” while Jamario placed second runner-up with “Look How Me Mash Up De Place.” Jamario was also recognised as Best New Artist, highlighting his promising debut on the Junior Party Monarch stage.

In the Junior Groovy Monarch competition, Zsura claimed the championship with the song “Small Package,” earning praise from judges for an outstanding performance. The victory was made even sweeter as Zsura also captured the Best New Artist and Best Performer judged awards.

Ava secured the first runner-up position with “Play Ground,” while Ruez finished second runner-up with “Be Mine.”

Several additional awards recognised the dedication and growth of the young artistes throughout the competition. Marz received the Leadership Award, Dreya was honoured with the Most Punctual Award, while Cutie and Princess Lay Lay shared the Most Improved Award. Jamario also earned the People’s Choice Award, reflecting strong support from fans.

The annual KOSCAB Junior Party Monarch Competition continues to serve as an important platform for nurturing Antigua and Barbuda’s young soca talent, giving aspiring artistes an opportunity to showcase their creativity, confidence and stage presence before Carnival audiences.

Organisers congratulated all of the contestants for their performances, praising the high standard of competition and the passion displayed by the young entertainers.

With another successful edition of the competition complete, the future of Antiguan soca appears to be in capable hands as a new generation of performers continues to embrace and carry forward the island’s vibrant musical tradition.
