Mother Says 12-Year-Old Daughter Attacked and Robbed of Gold Chain in Golden Grove Extension
A mother is appealing for public assistance after reporting that her 12-year-old daughter was attacked and robbed while walking to a supermarket in Golden Grove Extension.
According to a social media post by the mother, the incident reportedly occurred at approximately 2 p.m. when a man allegedly approached the child and pinned her against a fence before stealing an 18-karat gold double-plated necklace.
The necklace carries a nameplate bearing the name “YALISSA.”
The mother said the alleged attack left her daughter with injuries to her neck.
“My daughter was choked and scraped on her neck and is now in pain. Her neck is swollen and she is traumatized,” she wrote.
She is urging members of the public, particularly anyone who may be offered the distinctive necklace for sale, not to purchase it and to report any relevant information.
According to the post, police have already been notified of the incident. The family is also hoping that surveillance cameras from homes in the area may have captured footage that could assist investigators in identifying the alleged assailant.
The mother shared photographs showing the necklace as well as what appears to be an injury to the child’s neck.
Anyone with information that could assist with the investigation is encouraged to contact the police.
The allegations contained in the mother’s social media post have not been independently verified.
