Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice as the investigation into the murder of 16-year-old Jerbiah Paul continues.
Police Public Relations Officer Acting Assistant Superintendent Fixton Henderson confirmed that the adult woman, who is from Marigot, was arrested on Thursday, August 20.
Her arrest is the latest development in the investigation into the teenager’s death, which has already resulted in murder charges against two police officers.
Paul was reported missing on July 24. Her remains were discovered in Capuchin on August 12, bringing the search for the teenager to a tragic end.
Jean-Luc Rudy Langlais was charged with murder earlier this month, while Joshua Hamlet was charged on August 17. Both men have been remanded to the State Prison pending further court proceedings.
Police have not disclosed the circumstances that led to the woman’s arrest or the specific allegations surrounding the suspected attempt to pervert the course of justice.
Henderson said investigations into Paul’s murder remain ongoing.
