
69-Year-Old Man Shot During Late-Night Liberta Robbery
A late-night robbery in Liberta turned violent early Saturday when a 69-year-old man was shot in the hand after being confronted by two masked gunmen.
The incident reportedly occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the vicinity of Ya So So Bakery.
According to reports, the elderly man was approached by the two assailants, who reportedly robbed him of cash and his cellular phone before firing at him.
The gunfire struck the man in the hand, leaving him injured.
Emergency Medical Services responded and transported him to hospital, where he remains in stable condition. His injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
The two suspects reportedly escaped on foot after the attack.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could help identify the suspects to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914.

The shooting comes amid ongoing efforts by the security forces to respond to a recent spate of gun-related incidents, including through Operation Restore Confidence and Operation Iron Grip.
