Adrian Richardson has been elected chairman of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party’s St. Philip’s South Constituency Branch, defeating former vice chairman Linda Josiah by 34 votes to 10 in Wednesday’s election.

Branch members voted to fill six executive positions: chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer, women’s development officer and youth development officer.

ABLP General Secretary Senator Shenella Govia congratulated Richardson and said she looked forward to working with him.

Richardson said he was humbled by the result and pledged to give his best in the role. He called for unity within the branch and said he would seek God’s guidance as he takes on the chairmanship.
