SpaceX Named as Major Sponsor of Commonwealth Business Forum in Antigua and Barbuda
SpaceX has been named as a major sponsor of the Commonwealth Business Forum, scheduled for November 2–4 at Sticky Wicket in Antigua and Barbuda.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne said the company’s founder, Elon Musk, may also attend, though his participation has not been confirmed.
“Potentially, Elon Musk has indicated that if he is available that he will participate,” Browne said recently on PBN. “So we are hoping he will make it here.”
The forum will bring together government leaders, ministers, entrepreneurs and investors during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, which Antigua and Barbuda will host from November 1–4.
One planned feature is an investment pitch session giving entrepreneurs from Antigua and Barbuda and the wider OECS an opportunity to present business proposals to prospective investors. Organisers hope the presentations will lead to funding and business connections.
Browne said he wants the gathering to increase trade and investment among Commonwealth countries. According to the Prime Minister, all 56 member nations have confirmed participation in CHOGM, and close to 40 heads of government have indicated they will attend.
The business forum is being organised by the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.
