Rawdon Nirobi Antonio Turner is a rising political leader in Antigua and Barbuda. He recently stepped into his role as Minister of Infrastructure and Urban Renewal following a successful by-election in St. Peter on January 14th.

With a firm commitment to improving citizens’ lives, Turner oversees key areas such as the Social Welfare Division, Urban Renewal, Community Development, and Poverty Eradication.

Education & Early Career:

Born on March 30, 1981, and raised in Parham Town, Turner attended Pares Secondary School and furthered his education at Antigua State College, where he studied engineering. His passion for education led him to become a teacher, a role he excelled in for seven years before venturing into entrepreneurship.

He founded Turner and Associates, a firm specializing in architectural design, construction, hardware supplies, and mining, which has created sustainable job opportunities for local residents.

Turner has a degree in Architectural Studies, which he obtained from the University of Technology, Jamaica. He also holds certification in Quantity Surveying from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Community Involvement:

Even before his political career, Turner was deeply engaged in community service. He served as the President of the Parham Alliance Beautification and Revitalization Organization (PABRO), championing community cleanups and mobilizing residents to improve their surroundings. His active participation extended to the Fitches Creek Residents Association, where he contributed to various cleanup efforts across St. Peter.

Turner was able to sponsor and support several major events within his community, including sports tournaments and educational achievements, and provided scholarships.

Vision & Goals:

Turner envisions a future where the residents of St. Peter are empowered and equipped for success. His plans focus on enhancing educational facilities with modern technology, establishing a youth mentorship program, and maintaining public infrastructure. He believes in leveraging the community’s strengths—its rich history and tight-knit spirit—to foster development.

Commitment to Development:

As a resident of St. Peter, Turner understands the importance of representative leadership. He aims to restore and elevate the constituency’s infrastructure, improve safety, and foster green spaces for community engagement. His entrepreneurial experience informs his approach to creating job opportunities and supporting youth empowerment initiatives.

Personal Philosophy:

Turner reflects on his upbringing in a close-knit community, valuing the spirit of care and support that characterizes life in St. Peter. He is dedicated to building a brighter future for the constituency, embodying the honor and dedication that he believes every representative should offer.

He joined the ABLP in 2022 and is the proud father of one child.
