Cristiano Ronaldo scores four goals for Al-Nassr to pass 500 career league goals

Cristiano Ronaldo scored all four goals for Al-Nassr in a 4-0 win over Al-Wehda in the Saudi Pro League on Thursday which has seen him cross the milestone of 500 league goals in his remarkable club career.

The 38-year-old Portuguese striker opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a left-footed strike to beat goalkeeper Abdulquddus Atiah.

He made it 2-0 with his right foot just before halftime before completing his hat-trick – his 61st of his career – from the penalty spot eight minutes into the second half. He added a fourth from a rebound just after the hour mark.

Ronaldo’s outstanding performance on Thursday will clearly now take the pressure off him after a disappointing start to life at the club, managing one goal from the penalty spot in his first three competitive appearances.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has now netted 503 goals for five different teams across five different leagues.

He scored 103 goals for Manchester United in two spells, 311 for Real Madrid, 81 for Juventus, 3 for Sporting Lisbon, and now has five for new club Al-Nassr.

The star striker signed a lucrative two-and-a-half-year deal with Al Nassr in December, reported to be worth over 200 million euros ($216.54 million) after his Manchester United contract was terminated last year.

Ronaldo’s four goals ensured Al-Nassr top the standings on goal difference after 16 games, level on 37 points with second-placed Al-Shabab with a game in hand.
