Minister Joseph attends pre-COP meeting

Minister of the Environment, Sir Molwyn Joseph, and Director of the Department of Environment, Ambassador Diann Black-Layne are attending PreCOP28 in Abu Dhabi.

The Pre COP28 meetings are being held on the 30th and 31st of October with an estimated seventy ministers representing some 117 nations attending.

The meeting is expected to finalize all the arrangements for the major meeting of world leaders, including its agenda.

COP28 takes place in Dubai from November 30th to December 14th, 2023.

A delegation from Antigua and Barbuda will attend COP28 with Prime Minister, Gaston Browne, along with Sir Molwyn presenting Antigua and Barbuda’s points of view at the high-level discussions.

COP28 is the 28th annual United Nations (UN) climate meeting.

Governments discuss how to limit and prepare for future climate change.

The summit is being held in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), from 30 November until 12 December 2023. COP stands for Conference of the Parties.
