Buckingham Palace have announced that King Charles III has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, and whilst they are currently declining to release news on what type of cancer it is, or indeed its prognosis, they have been quick to stress that it is NOT prostate cancer.

That message was given to deflect fears that it was associated with the treatment he received last week for that particular condition.

They did however confirm that this latest development was discovered during routine tests carried whilst he was in hospital for three days last month.

The King was seen at a church service in Sandringham on Sunday (4 January), where he waved to crowds, but has now returned to London and has already begun a series of “regular treatments”, as an out-patient.

The 75-year-old monarch will now pause his public-facing duties, but it is believed he will continue with his constitutional role as head of state, and will carry on working behind the scenes on state business and official papers.

Buckingham Palace statement

In the statement from the Palace it was confirmed that an issue identified when he was in the London clinic, had since revealed the cancer. It read: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”

Continuing it confirmed the King’s immediate movements over the coming weeks: “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.”

They went on to say how he remains in good spirits: “The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”

Camilla to step up

It is believed that Queen Camilla will step up to fulfil immediate engagements that Charles has had to postpone and other senior royals will also help out and stand in where necessary.

Earlier on Monday, it was announced the Prince William would carry out his first public engagements since Kate, the Princess of Wales, underwent major abdominal surgery, at the same clinic his father attended. He had been expected to be away from the limelight for several weeks, but may now need to return earlier than first indicated.

PM sends best wishes

Prime minister Rishi Sunak wished the King a “full and speedy recovery” and said he will no doubt “be back to full strength in no time” and it is thought Charles may even continue with their weekly meetings.

Prince Harry to visit

It is understood that Prince Harry has spoken with his father regarding the diagnosis and will be travelling back to the UK to spend some time with him in the next few days.

This cancer is rapidly increasing around the world. Growing up, I always heard that we were created with cancer cells but it is what we eat and put into our bodies cause these cells to mature into the disease cancer. When God created us he gave us a menu’s listed in the Bible we must follow, but we ignored it.
