As soon as Ricardo McKenzie is finished serving his one year and eight months prison sentence, he will be sent back to his homeland, Jamaica.

McKenzie, 28 entered a guilty plea to charges of possession of a 9mm automatic pistol and seven rounds of matching ammunition last month.

He was subsequently sentenced to spend almost two years in His Majesty’s Prison by Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel.

The charges stem from an incident on Monday, August 19, when police, acting on received information, intercepted a silver Toyota Belta motor car at Green Castle, Bendals.

McKenzie was in the vehicle along with 34-year-old O’Neil Swaby of Bendals at the time of the arrest.

During a search of the vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered the illegal firearm and ammunition in plain sight. Both men were subsequently arrested and jointly charged with unlawful possession of the weapon and ammunition.

However, Swaby had pleaded not guilty and the charges against him were dropped.

But he was immediately deported to Jamaica.

Really!!! With all the crime going on in Antigua, they were caught with gun and ammunition. That’s not what we need in this country, so yes deport them back to they homeland!!!! Them is two less the police have to deal with and it’s better for them both, they will never be found with gun and ammunition again in Sweet little Antigua.
