Deportations to occur soon

A Cuban national, Maria De Las Neives Jimenez Lopez, was caught attempting to purchase a ticket to leave Antigua and Barbuda for St. Kitts after being apprehended at the VC Bird International Airport.

It was revealed that she had arrived in the country and disembarked from a vessel without the consent of an Immigration Officer, violated the Immigration and Passport Act, No.6 of 2014, and entered Antigua and Barbuda at a point not designated as a port of entry.

Additionally, she failed to present herself to an Immigration officer for examination after traveling from a place outside Antigua and Barbuda.
As a result, Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel reprimanded her and ordered her deportation. The crime was believed to have been committed between April 1st and September 22, 2024.

In a separate case, Jamaican national Deron Campbell faced serious charges, including the attempted murder of Ovid Lewis and false imprisonment of Abigail Lewis and Kamar Lewis at Ferris Farm in St. Paul’s Parish.

However, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) decided not to proceed further with the case due to Campbell’s poor health. Nevertheless, he has been ordered to be deported back to Jamaica..

Kudos to those who realized her illegal entry in the country, in the first place!
You all see why I believe that Antigua’s population is no less than 140,000?
Many of them, it seems, entered Antigua/Barbuda by boat and just integrate themselves and act even more legal than us. The people and coast guards have to be more vigilant around the south, south east and west coasts of the islands
I just like how America and other real countries operate with their prosecutions.
You could be as old as Methuselah, sick like what or wearing pampers, you facing the courts and jail time, if deserving.
But I like Antigua even better, just prove you sick, sick, and the spirit of the lawis on your side, it appears.
