Earlier today Sunday, Antigua and Barbuda came together to honor its fallen heroes during the solemn annual Remembrance Sunday ceremony held at Memorial Park in St. John’s.
The event, steeped in reverence and gratitude, was led by His Excellency Governor General Sir Rodney Williams, who, alongside other dignitaries, participated in the poignant act of laying wreaths at the cenotaph.
This sacred memorial stands as a testament to the bravery and sacrifice of Antiguans and Barbudans who served valiantly in the harrowing battles of World War I and World War II.
As the ceremony unfolded, moments of reflection were shared, and the sounds of solemn music filled the air, reminding everyone present of the significant sacrifices made by those who fought for freedom and peace.
Tomorrow, November 11, marks Remembrance Day, a day of profound significance as it commemorates the historic signing of the WWI armistice at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
In the spirit of honoring our veterans and their incredible legacy, community members are encouraged to support the Antigua and Barbuda Ex-Servicemen Association by purchasing a symbolic poppy, a small gesture that carries deep meaning and remembrance.
