Several residents, especially those with respiratory issues have sought medical attention because of the low air quality.

Some residents have had asthma attacks and breathing problems

Climatologist Dale Destin said the air quality continues to plummet across the Eastern Caribbean due to particulate matter associated with a rare significant surge in Sahara Dust.

Unfortunately Sahara dust and the other impurities contaminating our air are works of nature which we have no control over. Climate change might also be contributing to it too but that I am not certain of. My suggestion is if you know you have or suffer from a sinus issue make it a priority to monitor the weather reports daily just in case so that you can be prepared for an eventuality and always have your medication with you.

That is great advice. Asthma is no joke. Always be prepared.

This should have been done sooner. Only realize the dust was so bad today but 2 days before I was getting sick. Now it’s really bad.
