A former IT technician at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre will be spending more than a decade behind bars for killing a former soldier.
Kenworth Charles stabbed Robins several times about his body during an altercation in Villa on July 24, 2020.
Charles had refused to pay for drinks he had from a woman’s cooler and was forced to pay by the deceased.
He returned to the spot days or weeks later and got into an altercation with the older man and killed him.
But the accused claimed that it was an accident caused by his intoxication.
He was found guilty of murder when a jury of nine returned a unanimous verdict about five months ago.
His sentencing hearing was delayed because of various issues such as mold in the court.
This morning, Justice Colin Williams finally sentenced the man to spend 16 years in His Majesty’s Prison.
However, since Charles has been in prison since committing the offense, his time on remand will be deducted.
