Tropical Depression Four has been formed in the Atlantic. Cindy was upgraded and renamed Tropical Storm Cindy last night, becoming the third storm of this year’s Atlantic Hurricane Season.

This is perhaps the first time that two storms formed east of the Caribbean islands in June in the same hurricane season.

At 5 a.m. on Friday, Cindy was located 1,595 km east of the Lesser Antilles with winds that were near 45 mph

Cindy is expected to remain east and northeast of the northern Leeward Islands through early next week. It is expected to gradually strengthen over the next few says according to the National Hurricane Center
