“We have no arrangement with Antigua Airways…” Martin Cave

“At no time or by any means has any known or unknown member or representative of Antigua Airways been in contact with this office or to the best of my knowledge any of our officers or directors”. These were the words of Martin Cave, the Executive Director of the Antigua and Barbuda Chamber of Commerce.

The body has completely distanced itself from any involvement in the recently established Antigua Airways.

Antigua Airways will be the country’s first airline linking the twin island nation directly to West Africa.

In a post to social media yesterday, Antigua Airways said: “First flight departing Lagos on the 31st of October 2022 confirmed; holiday package in Antigua with return on the 6th of November 2022.” It said that for further information people can contact the Nigeria-Antigua and Barbuda Chamber of Commerce.

But Cave said in a statement Wednesday that neither ABCCI nor its representatives have had conversations or agreements with Antigua Airways or its Nigerian financiers regarding an endorsement of its operation.

They claimed that they are very confused and baffled even, about a flyer that leads people to believe that it is associated with the venture.

“We have no knowledge of Antigua Airways or any of their representatives known or otherwise. Whereas any claim by any known member or representative of Antigua Airways of any affiliation to/with the Antigua and Barbuda Chamber of Commerce is untrue. We, therefore, reserve the right to seek and obtain inter alia clarification, rectification, and or redress for damages of any sort, this unsolicited affiliation might have or will cause,” Cave said.
